For law students, at any institution
Submit your work to
We accept submissions from law students at any institution. We read everything that comes in — and we respond with substantive feedback, whether or not we publish.
How it works
From draft to publication, in three steps
01
You submit
Send us your draft via the form below. 1,500–5,000 words for an Article, 800–1,200 for an Explained, 600–1,000 for an Opinion.
02
We respond
An editor reads your piece within ten working days and replies with detailed feedback — whether or not we publish. No form letters.
03
We publish
If accepted, we work with you on revisions, source-checking, and copy-editing before publication. Your byline links to a full author profile.
Before you submit
Read the full submission guidelines.
Eight pages on what we publish, what we don't, how we cite, and what to expect from editing. It is the single most useful thing you can read before you submit.

Frequently asked
Answers to the questions we get most often
Can I submit if I am not a member of EBC Learning?
Yes. The Edict accepts submissions from law students at any institution in India or abroad. EBC Learning publishes the review; the contributor base is open.
Do you accept co-authored pieces?
Yes, up to two co-authors. Both authors should be students, both bylines link to author profiles, and one author should be the corresponding contact for the editorial process.
Can I publish the same piece elsewhere?
Not for the first thirty days after publication on The Edict. After that, you are free to republish — we ask only that the original publication be acknowledged.
What happens if my piece is rejected?
You receive substantive editorial feedback explaining why, and — where useful — pointers on what would make the argument stronger. Many of our published pieces were resubmissions.
Do you pay contributors?
Not at the moment. We are a student-run review with a commitment to substantive editing rather than honoraria. Published pieces become part of your portfolio with a permanent author profile and a citation-ready URL.
